SunGrow is a large company with several divisions within the development of photovoltaic solar energy, including the manufacture of solar inverters. Other divisions include the manufacture of electric car components, promotion and construction of large solar plants, and operation and maintenance.

Sungrow was founded in 1997 by Cao Renxian, a professor at Hefei University, to help develop electrification in rural China through the use of photovoltaic energy. A long time has passed since then and SunGrow currently has annual sales of $1.5 billion and thousands of workers in its ranks.

The SG line of residential solar inverters inherits the company's experience in the large solar plant segment, offering high yields (greater than 98%), reduced weight, large capacity to over-dimension the continuous part with more solar panels, up to 30% over-power, and remote monitoring system through its mobile application.  The SG line is very easy to install with "plug & play" technology, incorporation of surge protector and differential switch and an LCD screen incorporated in the body of the solar inverter that allows to follow the steps in an easy way for the start up of the solar installation for self-consumption. It is particularly interesting that the SunGrow solar inverters have two MPPT's already in small powers starting from 3kW which allows the optimization of the photovoltaic self-consumption system even with the use of roofs with different orientations or on roofs with partial shading.

The SH line of Sungrow inverters uses the same base as the SG series with all its advantages with the additional feature that optional solar batteries can be connected easily and modularly.  The SH solar inverters are the latest addition to the Chinese brand available in 8kW and 10kW power ratings.

For higher solar inverter capacities, Sungrow has the SG Commercial/Industrial line covering the range of 12kW to 250kW. While higher power products are usually compatible with 800Vac voltages, ready for connection to large PV plants directly to the low voltage input of a transformer, the low power range of this series, up to 50kW, is perfect for larger self-consumption solar installations such as shopping malls or industrial buildings of a certain size. This type of inverter has many advantages as it does not require the use of fuses and surge protection on the DC side, can operate in wide voltage ranges on the DC side even allowing the use of bifacial panels and following its smaller brothers are easy to install and implement with SunGrow's plug & play technology.
