With powers ranging from 4kW to 10kW these inverters with 2 MPPT's make them very dynamic, efficient and flexible to any design of solar installation for self-consumption.     Huawei divides its solar inverters into 2 categories, the so-called "FusionSolar Utility & Commercial" focused on large solar farms and industrial solar installations and the category "FusionSolar Residential" as its name indicates with specific use of small solar installations for homes.

    In the latter category, Huawei has solar inverters with outputs ranging from 2kW to 20kWp in both single-phase and three-phase versions. In the lower output range of this solar inverter category, the "Smart Energy Center" line stands out with products from 2kW to 5kW nominal output. This family is characterised by its small size, high efficiency (98.4%), 2 MPPT's (maximum power tracking points) in all its ranges, easy to install, with over-dimensioning in the DC part of 50%, with an elegant design, integrated electrical protections and all this at a very good price.     It is obvious that the quality brand image gained in other divisions has favoured the sales of its solar inverter section in the residential area, however, it is fair to say that this quality image is matched by the product offered, as Huawei solar inverters have managed to be at the technological forefront of the sector as newcomers.

    For three-phase self-consumption solar installations, Huawei has the Smart Energy Center SUN2000 line with nominal power ranges from 3kW to 10kW. Also with the capacity to add up to a peak power of 50% of its nominal power, these solar inverters besides having the same qualities of their single-phase brothers have an "integrated optimizer" that allows to reach up to 30% more solar production, an integrated interface for batteries that allows the easy connection of these and the AFCI system that reduces the risk of fire. With efficiencies above 98% and integrated electrical protections it is undoubtedly a great technological solution at a very attractive price.

    By starting with such low power (3 kW), Huawei's three-phase offer allows for small installations in three-phase residential customers who were usually required to install minimum powers of around 5-6 kW.

    The last but not least important family in the residential commercial segment is the so-called "Smart String inverter" with power ranges from 12kW to 20kW three-phase. This series includes all the advantages and features of the "Smart Energy Center SUN2000" series and includes a system to mitigate the degradation of solar panels due to voltage difference degradation (PID). This already more professional series with a large number of electronic components at the expense of their mechanical counterparts provides greater reliability with failure rates of less than 0.5%.

    On the other hand, the Maxeon range also offers an improved solution over conventional panels. For starters, this series offers higher efficiency and has the lowest degradation rate in the solar industry, around 0.2%/year, less than a third of conventional rates of 0.75%/year.

    In addition, the cells in this series use back-contact conductivity, eliminating unsightly metallic grid lines and allowing them to absorb more sunlight. The metal adds massive strength to each cell, helping it resist corrosion from the elements while making the entire panel more durable.


    To top it off, the back-contact cell design of Maxeon panels also offers a neat and sleek design aesthetic, with panels available in black and white back sheets.

    This latest series offers a 40-year warranty, the longest warranty in the solar industry.

    Finally, the difference between the Performance series and the Maxeon series lies in the type of cell used in the panels. The Performance panels use high-efficiency mono PERC cells for greater reliability and efficiency, while the cells in the Maxeon panels have no grid lines, solid metal backing and thick strain relief connectors.

With more bus bars in the cell, the recombination effect of the electrons is reduced, transforming itself into more captured electric current and therefore more efficiency of the solar panel. Additionally, more bus bars in the cell allow the solar panel to operate almost without repercussion in the event that one of them is disconnected or broken. Therefore, the product is more robust.

    Trina Solar's non-exclusive split-cell technology increases the overall efficiency of the solar panel by approximately 2% through reduced electrical resistance of the conductors. As each cell is smaller, the conductor thickness can be smaller, thus reducing heat loss. Additionally, split cells reduce the size of hot spots on the solar panels, minimizing energy losses. This technology has a side effect that is the best operation and performance in partial shading situations.

    Within the range of Trina Solar products most suitable for residential and/or commercial self-consumption installations we find the Honey and TallMax Series.

    The Honey Series offers the lowest power solar panels from 285Wp to 375W in its different versions. This range of solar panels has the Multi-bus bar and split cell technology mentioned above.
