This regulation allows to self-consume solar energy within their own house. This opens the option of a significant reduction from the <a title=\"How to understand electricity bills in Spain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ocu.org\/vivienda-y-energia\/gas-luz\/consejos\/como-descifrar-la-factura-de-la-luz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><strong>electricity bill<\/strong><\/a> amount. Obviously, anyone who is thinking deeply on that might be having some questions. In this post, we are describing how this excess of production is structured in a photovoltaic solar system.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-543 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tienda-solar.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/paneles-solares-en-cubierta-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Paneles solares en cubierta\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tienda-solar.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/paneles-solares-en-cubierta-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tienda-solar.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/paneles-solares-en-cubierta-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/tienda-solar.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/paneles-solares-en-cubierta-600x400.jpg 600w, https:\/\/tienda-solar.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/paneles-solares-en-cubierta.jpg 791w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>In order to have the possibility to compensate the excess of the solar photovoltaic installation, it\u2019s mandatory to select the \u201c<a title=\"FAQ about self-consumption\" href=\"https:\/\/energia.gob.es\/electricidad\/autoconsumo-electrico\/Paginas\/preguntas-frecuentes-autoconsumo.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><strong>compensation mode<\/strong><\/a>\u201d during the legalization process. Like that, during the periods of time when energy solar production is higher than consumption needs, the excess of energy will be exported to the electricity network and site owner will have the right to be financially compensated for that contribution by selling the energy to the user. Economical compensation will be done using the average price of the hourly electricity market minus deviations cost (for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ree.es\/es\/actividades\/operacion-del-sistema-electrico\/precio-voluntario-pequeno-consumidor-pvpc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">PVPC<\/a> consumers<\/strong>) or the agreed electricity price. On a later stage, some benefits can be applying like \u201c<a title=\"Social bonus explained\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bonosocial.gob.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><strong>bono social<\/strong><\/a>\u201d, toll and taxes prices. Under any circumstances, the result of the compensation can be negative.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>How to get the right of economical compensation?<\/h2>\n<p>To get the right of economical compensation option, it\u2019s mandatory to meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Primary energy source must be renewable<\/strong>. This is already the case since it\u2019s a <a title=\"PV systems\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Photovoltaic_system\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><strong>photovoltaic solar system<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Installed power must be below 100kW<\/strong>. This is a very high value for residential users and typically any type of residential photovoltaic solar system will be below that value.<\/li>\n<li>A unique contract between consumption and any potential auxiliary service linked. For <strong>domestic consumers<\/strong>, this is always the case.<\/li>\n<li><strong>In case the consumption and generation associated individual or entity is not the same<\/strong>, it is compulsory to formalize a compensation energy contract according to article 14 of the \u201cReal Decreto 244\/2019\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Solar installation <strong>can\u2019t be having any additional remuneration<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Considering that electrical invoices have some concepts that are not directly linked to the consumption or electrical generation, the typical savings linked to a self-consumption photovoltaic solar system in a domestic installation is between 50 and 75% depending on the particular details of each case.
